New Member Spotlight: Meet Kaydee and Brian, Our New AmeriCorps Members at Beaches Habitat for Humanity!
We are thrilled to introduce two new Americorps members who have recently joined our Beaches Habitat for Humanity team, Kaydee Gavron and Brian Joubran. With their passion for community service and dedication to making a difference, these two bring a fresh perspective and a strong commitment to our mission of building homes, communities, and hope.
Brian:
After taking a two-year break to travel the world and find purpose in a rapidly changing world post-COVID, Brian brings over 15 years of experience to Beaches Habitat through AmeriCorps. His career spans healthcare, government, and education as a Social Security Disability advocate, communications manager, legislative correspondent, and assistant teacher. During his travels across 17 countries, he witnessed the global impact of poverty, fueling his desire to make a difference. Brian joined Beaches Habitat to learn how nonprofits like Habitat for Humanity raise funds and create change—skills he hopes to use to fight poverty worldwide.
With an MBA from UC Davis and a degree in Literature and Writing from UC San Diego, Brian is helping Beaches Habitat implement new CRM technology to improve donor engagement and build more homes. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, learning about cultures, playing percussion, and outdoor activities involving community, beach, sun, and music.
Kaydee:
If Kaydee’s face looks familiar, it’s because she is an Atlantic Beach native! She recently returned to her hometown after extensive travel, including serving in the Peace Corps. Kaydee is excited to contribute to affordable housing solutions in this community that means so much to her. She will be serving as our Volunteer Services Coordinator, helping to recruit, train, schedule and recognize volunteers while growing our volunteer base. She hopes to develop new events and opportunities for volunteers to engage with the mission of Beaches Habitat.
With a degree in Psychology from the University of Florida and as a Mayo Clinic trained Health and Wellness coach in her personal time, Kaydee’s passions always revolve around her fellow man. She is a vocal advocate of the importance of generosity, curiosity, and compassion for the good of all. Be careful if you ask her about these passions, she’ll be the first to tell you she has been known to talk endlessly once you get her started!
