Home for the Holidays
24 Years of Ownership
Stephanie Green bought her Beaches Habitat home in 2000, where she raised her two sons, Gene and Cameron. Now, after 24 years of homeownership, she reflects on how that opportunity shaped her family.
“Homeownership… was crucial in teaching my children how to become responsible adults and it helped them realize their future can be bright. Homeownership is extremely important to single parents because children benefit from living in a stable home.”
Stephanie’s home allowed her to pursue her dreams. She became a registered nurse, started her own home healthcare business, and eventually paid off her mortgage. With financial freedom, she traveled the world with her sons.
When health issues forced Stephanie to stop working, her home became her safety net:
“I thank God that Beaches Habitat for Humanity allowed me to become a proud homeowner. With the loss of income, I can survive this challenging time because my home is paid for in full, which gives me financial relief. Beaches Habitat has been the best decision of my life, and if I could do it all over, I wouldn't change a thing.”
Your Gift Matters
Stories like Stephanie’s remind us why this work matters. They also inspire us as we move forward with Coastal Haven – a 44 townhome community on Mayport Road.
Over the next six years, 44 new families will have the opportunity to own an affordable home, just like Stephanie did. Coastal Haven will cost $10 million dollars to build, and your support is crucial to making it happen.
