Court-Ordered Community Service

Thank you for your interest in volunteering!

At this time, we are not able to accept volunteers who need to complete court-ordered community service.

We’re grateful for your interest and encourage you to check back for future opportunities.

Need to Complete Court-Ordered Community Service?

Beaches Habitat allows some volunteers to complete their court-ordered community service hours on our construction sites. You must be approved before you start - we won’t be able to verify your hours if you haven’t been approved in advance.

Who can volunteer?

We do not accept volunteers with offenses involving violence, theft, or sexual misconduct. This includes (but isn’t limited to):

  • Petty theft
  • Robbery
  • Larceny
  • Soliciting a prostitute
  • Assault
  • Battery

We typically accept non-violent, non-theft-related charges like:

  • Driving under the influence (DUI)
  • Reckless driving
  • Driving with a suspended license
  • Trespassing
  • Minor possession (alcohol or marijuana, depending on circumstances)

Please note: Approval is not guaranteed. Each request is reviewed individually, and Beaches Habitat reserves the right to decline any court-ordered service request.

How to get approved:

  1. Complete our Community Service Agreement (linked below)
  2. Send a copy of your court paperwork (must include your charges and number of hours required) to volunteer@beacheshabitat.org

Please allow up to 3 business days for us to review your request.
